Abstract Art:
Abstract art that does not attempt to represent external reality, but seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, forms, colors, and textures.
Emphasis:
Emphasis is defined as an area or object within the artwork that draws attention and becomes a focal point. Subordination is defined as minimizing or toning down other compositional elements in order to bring attention to the focal point.
Mixed Media:
Mixed media tends to refer to a work of visual art that combines various traditionally distinct visual art media. For example, a work on canvas that combines paint, ink, and collage could properly be called a "mixed media" work, but not a work of "multimedia art."
